- Is this process protecting a real risk or a historical scar?
- What is the cost of delay in dollars, risk, or people?
- Can we run a reversible pilot without abandoning the standard?

If you cannot answer (4), do not change it yet. If you can, you may be defending comfort rather than safety.
Making your value visible
ISTJs often under-market their impact. Keep a simple log: incidents prevented, audits passed, uptime, cycle time. Not for ego. For negotiation, promotion, and pricing if you are independent.
