How Opportunity Score works
Opportunity Score reads across ten decision lenses. For each lens the AI assigns a plain rating band and cites evidence from the material you supply. A validated server rule maps those bands to fixed values and combines them with fixed weights, so the headline number is reproducible and never a hidden model guess.
Rating anchors
Each dimension gets one of five bands. The server maps every band to the same fixed value, so two analyses with the same bands produce the same number.
| Band | Value |
|---|---|
| Strongly favorable | 90 |
| Favorable | 70 |
| Mixed | 50 |
| Unfavorable | 30 |
| Strongly unfavorable | 10 |
When the supplied material does not support a lens, that lens is marked as limited evidence and cannot score above Mixed, so thin evidence never inflates the result. Enough limited-evidence lenses lower the overall confidence.
Dimension weights
| Dimension | Weight |
|---|---|
| Personal fit | 15% |
| Upside | 14% |
| Evidence quality | 13% |
| Risk (favorable = low) | 12% |
| Goal alignment | 9% |
| Timing | 8% |
| Effort (favorable = manageable) | 8% |
| Reversibility | 8% |
| Learning value | 7% |
| Future options | 6% |
Ratings share one direction: favorable is always the good direction. For risk, favorable means low or well-controlled risk; for effort, favorable means manageable effort.
Decision environment
Every brief names the kind of decision you are in, because the right move depends on it. The environment shapes the recommendation but never adds or removes points.
- Routine. A known situation. Apply a proven process and verify the outcome.
- Expert analysis. Complicated but knowable. Get specialist analysis or compare viable alternatives.
- Experiment. Genuinely uncertain. Run a small, reversible test and observe results.
- Stabilize. Urgent exposure. Reduce risk or restore control before evaluating upside.
- Clarify. Too little is known. Collect missing facts before treating it as actionable.
Guardrails apply automatically: a Clarify environment cannot return Pursue, Stabilize leads with reducing exposure, Experiment favors a bounded test over full commitment, and thin evidence cannot produce an unqualified Pursue.
Personalization
An optional Opportunity Profile tailors relevance to your goals, role, resources, risk tolerance, and constraints. It is sent only when you analyze, is bounded and sanitized, and is never read from a web page. On the website, it is saved to your private account only when you explicitly choose the save option, and you can edit or permanently delete it. With a profile, a brief is labeled Personalized to your Opportunity Profile. Without one, it is labeled General analysis and makes no claim of being tailored to you.
Limitations
This is decision support, not a prediction, guarantee, or professional opinion, and not medical, legal, financial, employment, or investment advice. Confidence describes the completeness and consistency of the evidence you supplied, not certainty about the future. Analysis is user-triggered; the website does not browse supplied URLs, and completed analyses are private to the account and can be deleted from the library.
